Jamesena Moore, affectionately known as “Jamie,” a member of the Offutt Enlisted Spouses Club since 1983, is being honored by Serve Nebraska with the naming of a volunteer service award in her honor.
Jamie will be presenting the inaugural Jamesena (Jamie) Moore Making A Difference Outstanding Service Award to Sen. Ben and Diane Nelson this Friday at the Step Forward Awards Luncheon, which is the Governor Pete Ricketts’s recognition of volunteers statewide.
Jamie is currently our parliamentarian and serves as our fundraising chair, bylaws chair and book club lead. Throughout the years, Jamie has overseen many OESC events and activities, including serving as chair of our highly celebrated Winter Wonderland multiple times.
Other organizations that she has recently served in a leadership capacity include the National Association of Social Workers; Nebraska Business and Professional Women’s Foundation; Nebraska 150 Foundation; Governor’s Residence Advisory Committee; and Friends of the Governor’s Advisory Fund.
Jamie is also a past national president for the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems; past chair of the President’s Council, NASW; past national second vice president and national secretary of NASW; past first vice president, American Association of State Service Commission; past chair of ServeNebraska; and past president of the Nebraska Chapter of NASW. Other community involvement includes Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Brush Up Nebraska, GI and CM Eppes Alumni Association.
She retired as vice president of volunteer and community services from United Way of the Midlands in October 2011.
Jamie, who resides in Bellevue, is married to retired MSgt. Bennie L. Moore. They have one daughter, Marcia, who resides in Sweden with her husband, Dr. Mattias Viklund, and their son Max Erik.
